Our energy practice includes energy industry transactions, energy project development and representation of clients in energy regulatory matters. Our energy clients are primarily in the clean energy/clean technology areas and include emerging companies, mature companies, equity investors, lenders, nonprofits and public entities. We have exposure to a wide range of clean energy technologies, including wind, solar, hydropower, geothermal, landfill gas, anaerobic digestion, district steam and biomass combustion.
Legal services we provide in the energy field include:
start-up and ongoing outside general counsel services for energy ventures
assistance with permitting, financing, commercial and regulatory matters for energy projects
assistance with planning, negotiating and documenting energy sector mergers and acquisitions and other significant transactions
representation in energy regulatory matters relating to the electric and gas industry and alternative energy interests (e.g., interconnection standards, net metering, back-up/standby rates, renewable portfolio standards)
